Llama Llama Gram and Grandpa Review by Spark and Pook

One story character that has been hot on the picture book scene for many years now is Llama Llama created by Anna Dewdney.  This award winning author has brought us another of Llama Llama's adventures in Llama Llama Gram and Grandpa. For the first time, Llama Llama is going to stay the night at Gram and Grandpa's house.  He packs his things carefully including his Fuzzy to cuddle with at bedtime.  Llama Llama does so many fun things at his grandparents' house, but it isn't long before he realizes he has left his Fuzzy behind.  Llama Llama is very distressed and doesn't want to go to sleep.  Luckily, Grandpa comes up with a solution that saves the day.As in all the Llama Llama books, our friend is experiencing something that all young children can identify with. Anna Dewdney skillfully uses brief text to move the story along while maintaining enough detail to clearly relay the tension and feelings of the characters.  The author's clever use of rhyme and rhythm make the Llama Llama books a joy for parents to read and fun for kids to listen to.If the little ones in your life haven't met this little guy yet, you should introduce them immediately. My daughter and I truly enjoy all of the Llama Llama books we've read. They are a pleasure to read repeatedly. Seeing as how we own many of the books in this series, I was only too happy to review, Llama Llama, Gram and Grandpa.
