Little fans of ninjas will enjoy this imaginative story written in comic book style. Though it's short on words, it's big on action and imagination. The stealthy ninja shows off all his stealthy skills in order to overcome obstacles and reach his goal. In the process he teaches us the important aspects of being a true ninja.Recommended for Ages 4-7 
Ninja Boy's Secret by Tina Schneider
It's hard when you don't fit in, when you're just not interested in the kinds of things others think you should be. How will Ninja Boy reveal to his dad what he's really passionate about? This book has a message many readers can relate to, and it is a treat for the eyes with it's stunning illustrations.Recommended for ages 4-8 
Hello, Ninja by N.D. Willson and Forrest Dickison
This newly released (October 2019) picture book is great for ninjas of the littlest variety. It's a fun bedtime story that starts out packed with ninja action. In the end, it shows us that "ninjas ninja hard all day," and so they need their sleep at night.Recommended for ages 3-6 
Nighttime Ninja by Barbara DaCosta and Ed Young
We love the unique mixed media illustrations in this book. They are simple yet full of texture and pattern with the ninja silhouette made of cut paper overlaying the fabric background. Readers of this book will be wanting to linger over the illustrations. But at the same time, the subtle sense of suspense the author builds into the story will have them wanting to turn the page to continue on.Recommended for ages 3-6 
Ninja Camp by Sue Fliess and Jen Taylor
What could be better than a camp where you train full time to be a ninja? Nothing. Join the kids as they learn what's needed to become ninjas of the night.Recommended for ages 4-7
The Three Ninja Pigs by Corey Rosen Schwartz and Dan Santat
This fractured fairy tale is truly a joy to read. With comic book style illustrations by the very talented Dan Santat and hilarious phrases, this is not your typical retelling of the Three Little Pigs. The pigs do defeat the wolf, but not due to the strength of their house. It comes down to Sister Pig's perseverance and bravery. No big bad bully is a match for her. 
Ninja Red Riding Hood by Corey Rosen Schwartz and Dan Santat
This is another fractured fairytale by this talented duo that turns the traditional tale on its head in this fun read. Kids and adults alike will get a kick out of it. I love how Granny comes into the story at the end in a way she's never been portrayed before. You won't be disappointed.
Hensel and Gretel Ninja Chicks by Corey Rosen Schwartz and Rebecca Gomez. Illustrated by Dan Santat
The talented crew is at it again creating a fractured fairy tale you'll want to read again and again. This time the action-packed story puts Hensel and Gretel in control of the situation using, of course, ninja skills.And those are our favorite Picture Books about Ninjas. Pooky and I became interested in picture books about Ninjas when we finished reading Night of the Ninjas from the Magic Treehouse series by Mary Pope Osborne. This is a great early chapter book series full of adventure and tidbits of information. My daughter has been devouring these books. If you have a first or second grader, consider reading these books with them. You can order the beginning boxed set through the affiliate link below. You'll go through them quickly, so you'll want to order more than one.
